The Sex Offender Registration Act, known as SORA, established a Sex Offender Registry.  SORA requires convicted sex offenders to register with the State. SORA also provides information about convicted sex offenders to the public.

 

Sex offenders are classified as either low risk (Level 1), moderate risk (Level 2), or high risk (Level 3). If you’ve been adjudicated a Level 2 or Level 3 offender, you can petition for modification of your SORA level.
